Silvio Balestri, an Italian architect, arrives in New York in 1915 with the dream of working on the project of his life, Ziggurat, a skyscraper designed to meet the heights of the towers of Manhattan and beyond. Becoming an obsession Balestri searches an architecture capable of containing a meaning. Balestri's ambition to provide an architectural response to the myth of the Tower of Babel hits "The club of the six lamps": a sect of  skyscraper builders that aims to govern all heights.
